Career Expo

The Career Connections Expo is an annual event presented by the Acadia Parish School Board, the cities of Crowley and Rayne, and the Crowley Chamber of Commerce.    This event is held at the Crowley Rice Festival Building, 717 West Mill Street.  This one-day, tradeshow style event is an opportunity for local business and community leaders to interact with tenth and twelfth grade students from throughout Acadia parish.  By interacting with local business people, students are able to explore a variety of career options and become more informed of the day to day tasks involved in many jobs.  Together, businesses and schools will reinforce the importance of furthering education and the realities of the workforce, encouraging students to plan for their futures.  Through pre– and post– event classroom exercises, students will focus on the training necessary for their chosen career, the skills required to perform these tasks, and the advantages and fulfillment their role models found within their field of work.   The Reality Store will also help students understand the realities of living expenses and the relationship between quality of life and their educational and career choices.

Thank you for supporting education of our youth in Acadia Parish!
